So, a friend of mine is getting married and last Saturday was the bride price payment ceremony. So we traveled, over hills....

...and valleys...

...and winding rivers...

And finally....

 At some point, the guy is asked to choose his bride from among a group of girls who are covered up just to show how well he knows her :){I'm at the far right}

Onto my outfit of the day. My cousin, a friend and I got custom made kitenge/ankara  dresses for the event.

I wore mine with a statement neck piece, back heels and a few gold bangles.

L.B.D (Little Blue Dress)

I've had this dress for about 2 years now and this is only my second time wearing it. I love it but I never really know where to wear it to.                  

     So, I wore it to work with this plaid/tartan peplum jacket,with red accessories.

Nails: red-like

ZOE nail polish  #72

 I expected the nail polish to turn out more blood red as it did in the bottle but its much lighter. Wearing only two coats of  it , glossy and good coverage.

I love Sandra Bullock but this dress.....nah...

That shirt at the top totally ruined what would have been a simple chic look.

I think that colour washes her out plus the dress looks too prom like.

Finally, our very own Lupita Nyong'o, The colour, the fit, the cut of this dress is perfect.  For me hands down, the best dressed.

Nails : Purple rain

I think this is the most gorgeous nail polish ever. I'm smitten. Will let the photos speak for themselves.

  I'm wearing just  two coats of a this polish (no brand name)... I'm not being very helpful huh? x_x It's still pretty though

The village

So, this past weekend we took a drive about  80km out of the city (Nairobi) to a little town called Murang'a. The drive there, despite the horrid roads, was quite nice.Very quiet place with untouched beautiful landscapes.
